Make it easier to play when you use this Arcade1UP Riser on your system. It adds 1' to the height, bringing the unit up to a level that's more comfortable for most adults.
Shoot 1UP is my entry into the Experimental Gameplay Project contest for October entitled 'Numbers'. (Note: this is version is free, but unpolished-read about the nice, fancy version of the game here.) In Shoot 1UP, you control a fighter attacking enemy aircraft infected with creepy, machine-controlling alien parasites.Your ship harnesses the alien power and is using it against them! Relive the glory days of arcade gaming in the comfort of your own home with Arcade 1UP's Final Fight at home arcade machine! Perfect for when your friends are over, the two-player joystick/button configuration brings the Final Fight arcade experience into the comfort of your home. Final Fight is a mix of fighting and storytelling.
This arcade riser is made entirely from wood and is sturdy enough to hold up the main unit indefinitely. It's designed and made by the original manufacturer so you're getting a product that's completely compatible with the Arcade1UP arcade machine.
Setup is simple and easy so you can get started using it right away. Arcade Riser for Arcade1UP Classic Arcade Machines:. Arcade machine riser increases product height by 1'. Listing is for the riser only (Arcade1UP machine sold separately). Place your Arcade1UP machine on this riser to make the controls at the correct height for stand up play. The Arcade1UP Riser is a great, well-made product.
So here's the deal, without it, the arcade machines are 4' tall, and you pretty much HAVE to play sitting down. Honestly, that's the way you'll want to play these games. So even with the riser, your machine is about 59' tall (just shy of 5').
For an average height person, this works out well. It's just tall enough to stand and play, but what I did was buy a couple of 25' barstools, and that made all the difference. The riser makes the machine tall enough to where when you walk in the room your first thought is 'this is so awesome, I have an arcade in my house' and then you can sit, play, and have fun. The risers aren't very expensive and, in my opinion, a necessity.
If you bought a Arcade1UP machine for your child, and they're short enough to enjoy the game standing up, then don't bother, but if you bought it for yourself (my son is 2, what's he gonna do on a game like Final Fight?) then get the riser, get a barstool, grab a drink, and play play play. Easy to assemble with just a Phillips screwdriver. Takes only about 10 minutes. Functionality however was disappointing.Height-wise, Goldilocks was a typical adult, about 5' 8' tall. She wanted to be able to sit in a standard desk chair (with arms) and play comfortably. Without the riser she had to sit on a footstool.
After adding the riser, Goldilocks tried to play while seated in her favorite desk chair but the controls were tooooo high. So then she tried to play standing up but the controls were tooooo low. Goldilocks was not happy (and took out her frustration on Mr. Goldilocks grew weary of not getting any and bought a short barstool with a 24” seat height. Goldilocks said that the playing height was juuuust right but down deep they both knew that barstools are never as comfortable as regular chair and Mr. Goldilocks never got laid again. The Arcade1UP Riser is a great, well-made product.

Lego island 2. In Lego Island 2, you play as the skateboarding pizza delivery boy, Pepper. Armed with his trusty skateboard, he has to save Lego Island from deconstruction caused by the evil Brickster who stole the magical Constructopedia. Along the way, you will get to travel to Knight's Island, Adventure Island and Ogel, in order to rescue Lego Island.

This is a must-have component for any of the Arcade1Up machines unless you're a midget - then the 4' tall machine will be perfect. The quality is great, especially for an arcade riser. The high density particle board is more sufficient if you assemble it correctly. Use the supplied parts, follow the instructions!
The supplied blunt tip screws are NOT wood screws deliberately, they are designed to thread into the metal anchors already installed in the psnels. DO NOT USE YOUR OWN WOOD SCREWS THINKING YOU KNOW BETTER.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.The kit is well designed, instructions are written in clear English w/ great diagrams, parts are well labeled and even include spares. Not a bad little piece-it's sturdy, assembles easily and quickly, and aesthetically appealing.
It does it's job when assembled, and raises the game to a more reasonable height to play your game while standing. But it could be more robust, and (when built) it contains a lot of wasted of space.

It would be cooler if it had a little set of built-in shelves for gaming books or a display area. Or a pull out drawer in front for non-Arcade1Up related stuff like board games, gaming hardware or software, knick-knacks, etc. Yeah, I'm aware that that would jack up the price a little; but I'd pay the price for a product that is more usable. I also really wish Arcade1Up would have included it with all their games, as a package deal. It does a decent job of lifting the game up a foot. But you can tell they went to the cheapest possible route with this item. From the particle board down to the hardware included.
Seriously, who sends blunt tip wood screws with something like this? The pre-drilled holes were off on more than one side.
I had to change them out for better wood screws. It does move a bit during vigorous game play. The included pads on the bottom allow it to slip on hard surfaced.
In the end, it does the job ok but even at $40, this is still overpriced.
